rulebook says "An event may be cancelled if fewer than 10 drivers are available for it."

but next time, please cancel the event BEFORE we run it

cancelling it after the race has been run, it just sets a dangerous precedent

sorry for the fuss, but I lose my best ever result in this league, could have moved up to 9th in the standings, too

it is not my fault only 7 drivers showed up

anyway thanks to all who did show up for a great race

I am very sorry about your podium finish Alaster, we thought more drivers would join during warmup. Sad When the event was over we decided after our rules to invalid the result. Because we thought it is wrong to give points for a race which only included 7 drivers with the main championship contenders missing.

I hope you will still participate and can have fun with us!

so lets say a driver is leading the championship standings, then it is possible that he conspire with other drivers to make sure that there are less than 10 who show up on race day, the event is cancelled, and he keeps his championship lead

I'm not saying that this is what happened, but consider the possibility and how it might undermine the integrity of the competition

Maybe the rulebook must be more explicit than just "An event may be cancelled if fewer than 10 drivers are available for it."

Why do we even have a pre-race registration to say IN or OUT when most drivers seem to just show up on race day when they feel like it?

I'm not angry or anything, no hard feelings and all that, and if anybody should be pissed it's Arek who loses a race victory

but for a slow guy and backmarker like me, a podium finish is quite rare, and it's not like I lucked into it, I worked hard and put in the practice laps and ran the race, only for all of it to be taken away by some arbitrary rule

I can understand you and we will reconsider our rule for the next season(s).

Yes sorry Alaster, I understand what you are saying. We will make sure the rules are clearer from now on so that this doesn't happen again. This was the first time we ever had to apply this rule though, so apologies again.

Yeah, the rulebook says the event MAY be cancelled, not that it WILL be cancelled
also, if you are gonna cancel the event, cancel it before the green flag, not after the checkered flag
because now it can be seen as a manipulation of the results

I'm not being paid to drive, there is no prize money, and I'm not risking my life
the integrity of the competition is all I have

the schedule is set at the start of the season, and we have pre-race sign in/sign out for every race
why should the drivers who were present lose out or be penalized because of drivers who were absent?

looks like I'm kicking a dead horse here, sorry guys for all the fuss
