Malaysia GP - Sepang (Sunday, october 28th, 2012) – Race Report, by Sexy Brigadeiro & pictures by Arek
For ALL the pointers and Championship standings, just take a look below!!!
Well, it's time to say goodbye... We're leaving...
...leaving this damn LMT mod behind - thank god!!!
This was our very last race with it, after 2 seasons of a LOT of fun and drama as well...
But we all survived... right?
Anyway...
As everyone knows, Adrian was already the champion and the McLaren team (Joe & Alex - great job, guys!) was already pretty much with the Constructors' Championship in their hands - which they actually just confirmed in this GP - so we didn't have much to 'see' here in terms of championship tables, but we all love just to race and we're always seeking some good fun on track, so... here we were once again - let's see what we got this last time...
Another 'perfect weekend' for soutie (who could've been in the fight for this season's Title, but he lost a lot of races during the 'year' and just decided to makes things a little easier for Adrian - I particularly hope they're not that easy to ANY of them in the NEXT season)...
As I was saying, before I interrupted myself with another long parenthesis... soutie had another perfect weekend: pole, victory and fastest lap - a 'Full House' as we decided to call it, although I'd rather call it 'The Brigadeiro Medal Of Maximum Honor' ( )... so... CONGRATS, soutie!!!
About the race itself...
Arek gave me a lot of extra work, because he took about 60 pictures for ths GP - ok, he had a lot of extra work too, but it took me 2 days to load all of them in here and... well... they tell the GP's story a little better than me!
See you guys at the start of Season 3 - new mod - new cars - new teams & drivers - new drama...'Checkered flag is out and so am I!'
FULL RESULTS
Lap 1 - Start. soutie on pole position again. Adrian S Shole got the 2nd place in the grid.
Lap 1 - Adrian tries to pass soutie in the first corners and...
Lap 1 - ...makes it!
Lap 1 - This is how it looked for those who can fly... or pay for an helicopter ride...
Lap 1 - From 2nd to 6th: soutie, Otti, Grisu, Joe and Sven.
Lap 1 - Just a picture
(which actually means: Arek was too lazy to come up with a caption for this one... )
Lap 1 - Nice fight between Alex Hill and Luft_inspektor for the 8th place!
Lap 1 - Last turn of the first lap in the most classic spot from Sepang's circuit.
Lap 2 - Arek (7th) makes a mistake (what's new?) and Alex Hill passes him and yells: Thanks, noob!!!
Lap 2 - Seems like Tony has a problem... What a surprise!
(caption 100% by Arek... just sayin'... )
Lap 2 - Luft (8th) loses control, goes wide and spins...
Lap 2 - deadfish and Jackblack right before their contact - which sent dead wide and off the track...
Lap 2 - Blackfox passes Jackblack and goes up to 14th!
Lap 3 - A while later Jackblack tries to gest his place back, but... little contact between them... and Black loses his place being passed by Tom too!
Lap 3 - Black touches the gravel a little bit and gets a huge slide stopping at the wall after a heavy impact!
(P.S. Notice the tyre marks... Arek's 'little bit' means 'with the 4 wheels'... )
Lap 3 - The fight for 12th place between Bober and Luft.
Lap 4 - Arek loses grip being close behind Alex and goes wide losing a contact to the headlapm.
(does the word 'noob' means anything to you guys reading this?!... Ok, just checking...
P.S. I don't know what Arek meant with 'losing a contact to the headlapm' - maybe it's just polish... )
Lap 4 - ADI loses control and goes wide...
Lap 5 - Joe 'El Muchacho Suave' McLaggen tries to pass Grisu 'Biebes' Bieber in the battle for the 4th place!
Lap 6 - Hard battle for the 10th place between Luft and Arek!
Lap 6 - Arek keeps his place, but Luft gets passed by Bober...
(I'm gonna write a book called 'The Luck Of The Noob'... )
Lap 7 - Joe finally overtakes Grisu and takes the 4th place!
Lap 8 - Adrian in the pits.
Lap 8 - From 4th to 7th: Joe, Grisu, Sven and Alex.
Lap 9 - Crowded pit lane! Denis, Sven, Alex, Joe, Arnie and Bober! But Joe has some problems to hit his pit spot losing a few places...
Lap 9 - Here is how it looked like from Joe's TV cam: Joe tries to stop his car in the middle of his spot. Sven passes him...
Lap 9 - Alex comes in and takes his spot, passing Joe...
Lap 9 - Joe finally moves his ass out of his pit spot!
Lap 10 - Meanwhile... Alex and Sven are having a hard battle in the first chicane. There was a few contacts between them and finally Alex takes Sven's place!
Lap 10 - soutie made his pit stop and re-entered the track in front of Arek (who hasn't pited yet) and Adrian. Adrian doesn't have problems to pass Arek (what's new?) using his fresh tyres...
Lap 10 - The contact between Alex Hill and Tom McKay could've ended up worse than just losing a few places...
Lap 11 - Otti vs Jackblack (who hasn't pited yet) in the battle for the 3rd place!
Lap 11 - Luft passes Arek (who had changed his tyres to hards and wouldn't stop anymore).
Lap 12 - Great battle for the 11th place beetween Arnoldunhu and Bober!
Lap 13 - Luft joins the party! Arnie makes a mistake and let Bober pass... and a while later, Luft does the same...
Lap 14 - Adrian makes a mistake and loses his 2nd place for Otti!...
Lap 15 - Bober and Luft catch Sexy (10th) who was an easy target to pass
(Sexy Brigadeiro said: maybe because I was on hards? And they had fresh soft tyres?... Yep, just maybe... )
Lap 16 - Meanwhile Denis overtakes Joe and is up to 7th!
Lap 17 - The next one on the list to pass for Bober and Luft was Tom but he "escaped" to the pits!
Lap 18 - Arek overtakes Arnie taking his 11th place.
Lap 18 - What a powerslide by Biebs! It was right before his pit stop, but I guess he was just showing off to his 13 year-old fans - Ooh, baby, baby, baby... - SHUT UP!!!...
Lap 18 - The pit lane party again! Weeeeeee Grisu was partying for the 'most places lost'!
Lap 19 - And this is how Alex Hill left his pit spot: That was a wicked move, Jack Chan style, by China Boy!!!
Lap 20 - soutie leaves the pits and keeps his 1st place!
Lap 20 - Otti does the same a while later but he loses his place for Adrian who stopped one lap earlier!
Lap 22 - Seems like Otti (3rd) is a little bit faster but Adrian defends himself well!
Lap 22 - Luft overtakes Tom in the first chicane and takes the 11th place. Next target is Sexy...
Lap 22 - Otti makes a mistake, but Adrian is a very kind kangaroo (G'day mate! ) and knowing he already got the Title, he decided to wait for our little Dildo Boy!
Lap 22 - Meanwhile... Arek's strategy paid off and he had passed some of the two-stopers. But as fast as he was catching others, he was also being chased down!...
Lap 23 - Sexy says bye bye to his little point when Luft overtakes him and is up to the 10th place!
Lap 23 - Alex joins the party...
Lap 24 - ...and we have a hard battle for the 2nd place, involving Otti, Adrian and Alex!
Lap 25 - But Dildo Boy loses control and also his place for Adrian, Alex and even Joe!
Lap 25 - This wasn't the nicest way to say goodbye to LMT, but... Tom retires after getting a puncture...
Lap 26 - Adrian let the McLarens go to wait for Otti again! Crazy stuff (probably too many Foster's... or just a weird wish of having Dildo Boy on his rear - oh, these aussies!...)
Lap 26 - Finally the Choo-Choo-Train led by Arek A.K.A. The Noob (Biebs on soft tyres was still not able to pass Arek who uses hards, slowing down the whole group - good job! ) catch and joins Kangaroo Kid and Dildo Boy.
Lap 27 - Grisu finally makes the damn overtake! 'XD'
Lap 27 - Sven passes Arek too... ( ) But other guys still had to fight for the 4th place!
Lap 28 (LAST lap) - Denis (9th) gets a puncture and is off!..
Lap 28 (LAST lap) - soutie wins the very last race with the LMT mod in the rFR League!
Lap 28 (LAST lap) - Alex Hill is 2nd!
Lap 28 (LAST lap) - Joe McLaggen crosses the finish line as 3rd and closes McLaren's amazing season - 'Good job, guys!', says Ron Dennis!
Lap 28 (LAST lap) - Meanwhile, Adrian has problems and slows down letting other guys to pass him - not on purpose this time - but hey, who KERS?! The Champion don't, for sure!
Lap 28 (LAST lap) - In the last turn nothing changes and Otti finishes in 4th, in front of Grisu, Sven and Arek. Some destruction derby for the good end of the season and yeah, that's it - bye bye, LMT!
