Asshole's basic guide to Indianapolis

Setup
If you had a good setup in Jacarepaguá, chances are you will have a good setup here. The track is extremely similar in nature, with a high priority on mid-corner speed and stability in long radius corners. The only real difference is that the corners are far slower. Because of this, we need to make the car softer, whilst not allowing the car to bottom out on the straight. You will be staggered at how much time you can find with the ideal compromise.
I recommend running low roll bar settings with high tyre pressures. The logic being that your car will have more low-speed grip by rolling into corners at lower speeds to increase the tyre contact patch, whilst maintaining correct ride height at high speeds on the straight. However, logic doesn’t always translate on the track, so play around and see what feels best.


Driving
Nothing too out of the ordinary here, but again, like Jacarepaguá, mid-corner speed is very important, as the track is quite flowing and corner exits feed into corner entries. Pushing too hard is very high risk with very little return. Braking the slightest bit too late or getting on the power the slightest bit too early will easily cost you a couple of tenths. More patient, disciplined drivers will definitely be rewarded and particularly in the slower corners, you’ll likely find that driving like a grandma will pull time out of nowhere.
This track may not test your driving skills, but it definitely will test your patience.

At 3:13, their description of the corner is exactly like the final two corners of sector two at Indianapolis.
At 4:10 the same applies to the final corner of Indy. Take the tightest line without unsettling the car over the curb, as losing a tiny amount of speed on exit will add up to a tenth or two over the lap. Drive the shortest possible line on your qualifying laps, staying the the inside of the track instead of going wide to the wall. This alone will give you a tenth.
