Race REPORT & PICTURES - 16 - Brasil GP (Interlagos)

My home GP!!!...

And I couldn't race it again...

Anyway...

Unfortunately, we only had 14 drivers this time, for one of the best tracks in our calendar... Ok, maybe some of you guys have a life... and/or have more important things to do (like me - I was working...), so I can't blame you... And/Or maybe this was just because the fight for Championship is already over, since Adrian S Shole was declared Champion after the previous race, in Monza (Italy)...
Still it's a shame and I admit I was expecting a little more from this GP... I was expecting I could race - LOL!
But hey, don't worry! Most of these 14 guys had some fun, so that was good enough!

About the weekend...
We had soutie 'making beard, hair and moustache' - as we say in Brasil (jah, it sounds weird when we translate it literally... but it means he got everything that was possible) - he not only won the race, but also got the pole position (with an amazing 1:09.993 in Q1 - the 1st time we saw someone getting on the 9's, I guess...) and also got the race fastest lap, with an 1:11.397 on the 20th lap... He was annoyingly unbeatable, but... we must congratulate him anyway - just unload the 'Senna.exe' batch file for the next races, ok mate? Thanks!

Unfortunately, not all of the guys had some fun and this time, raikkO, Otti and BlackFox said 'adeus' to Brasil a little earlier than they expected... Maybe they were just in a hurry to get to Malaysia (next and last race of season 2) before everyone else - who knows?...
raikkO was REALLY out of luck and he must thank Arek, The Noob, for that... Ok, let's be fair... there was a race incident at the middle of lap 1 and some cars lost their front wings... They had to go to the pits... but Arek, The Noob, wasn't expecting for some guys to make a pit stop on the very first lap of the race, so... they braked right in front of him... he tried to avoid them, by moving his car to the right and... ended up hitting raikkO and smashing his car on the wall, finishing his race... - OBVIOUSLY Arek got a penalty for that - a Stop & Go and had 25 seconds added to his final race time - and with that he lost 2 places and 4 championship points - the RBR guys (Tom & Luft) were benefited by that (each one of them gained 1 extra place and 2 extra championship points) and said 'Obrigado, seu Noob'!...
BUT... Arek, The Noob, should know about the rule of NOT using the pit entrance path, in case you have a car in front of you, because MAYBE they were going to the pits (even on the very first lap) and we would never know, until it was too late... and a crash could happen, so...

We also had some funny moments, like Sven trying to play Grisu and blowing his engine only a few meters away from the finish line, on the very last lap, when he was about to get to the podium...
Also we had... eerr.. this was actually the only fun moment of the race...

P.S. This time, Arek is responsible for 99% of the captions. I only did a very few adjustments here and there - I actually had a LOT to 'say' and add to his captions, but I guess he wouldn't like some of the things I wanted to say, so... I'll keep them for myself this time...

Lap 1 - Start!


Lap 1 - Sprint to the first corner...

Lap 1 - A lot of Kubica fans on the big stand


Lap 1 - A close battle between Arnie and Luft seen from Joe's car.


Lap 1 - Adrian makes a mistake while trying to pass Grisu and loses his 3rd place for Alex and Sven.


Lap 1 - A while later, Luft lost control trying to pass Otti and spins...


Lap 1 - And then we had a big mess! Several cars (Joe, Arnie and Luft) lost their front wings...


Lap 1 - Arek wasn't expecting the cars in front to go to the pits on the very first lap...


Lap 1 - He was startled and turns right to avoid a crash, but... that was actually a mistake. And unfortunatelly raikkO was there and it was end of his race...


Lap 2 - Adrian S Shole spins on the curb, losing a few more places...


Lap 3 - Adrian tries to recover and passes Otti in battle for 6th!


Lap 3 - Jackblack (8th), Arek (9th) and Blackfox (10th), who has some problems with the curb...


Lap 5 - Alex Hill tries to pass Sven to get the 3rd place. Sven defends himself.


Lap 5 - Jackblack tries to pass Otti in the battle for the 7th place!


Lap 6 - Otti spins on the curb... Jackblack and Arek are able to pass him!


Lap 6 - ...But Blackfox doesn't have as much luck and we got this...


Lap 8 - Two laps later, soutie still leads but...


Lap 8 - ...interesting things started to happen at the front, where guys from P2 (Grisu) to P6 (Adrian) got very close to each other!


Lap 10 - Adrian tries to pass Tom, but goes wide again in the same corner as before...


Lap 11 - Sven is trying to pass Grisu, who seems to be a little slower, but he defends pretty well!


Lap 11 - Arek, who got stuck behind Jackblack for several laps, finally passes him and takes the 7th place!


Lap 12 - Joe (9th) and Luft (10th).


Lap 14 - The guys in front are still with the same positions. Only Adrian S Shole lost his to Tom McKay...


Lap 14 - Meanwhile, Joe and Luft have a great battle between themselves!


Lap 14 - After some position changes, Luft finally makes it and goes up to the 9th place!


Lap 15 - Grisu leaves the pits to start his 15th lap.


Lap 15 - Alex Hill comes to pits one lap later.


Lap 15 - At the same moment we got team orders in Williams and Jackblack lets Grisu go...


Lap 17 - The leader, soutie, in the pits.


Lap 17 - Tom does the same a while later. Hey, what a party on the screen!


Lap 17 - WTF?! Why is the party over so quickly?!


Lap 18 - Tom comes out behind Adrian who stopped a lap before and loses his place for him, also getting a drive through penalty for speeding in the pit lane...


Lap 18 - Sven makes his pit stop as last from the headlamp.


Lap 19 - He loses two places for Alex and Adrian for now but it is his the only one stop in this race...


Lap 19 - Meanhile, Tom (who have just got a penalty) also has problems with the damn trickiest curb at this track and... loses time again...


Lap 20 - Adrian passes Alex and takes the 3rd place!


Lap 20 - Arnoldinhu (8th) Tom (9th) and Luft (10th).


Lap 21 - Nice battle between Tom and Arnie, who defends himself very well!


Lap 21 - Tom gets a huge slide and Luft takes his chance to pass!


Lap 22 - But Tom takes the 9th place back!


Lap 24 - Adrian (3rd) gets closer to Grisu!


Lap 24 - Sven does the same with Alex!


Lap 24 - Grisu makes his second pit stop.


Lap 26 - Alex Hill almost crashed himself coming in to the pits!...


Lap 27 - Tom passes Jackblack, taking the 7th place!


Lap 30 - Arek was trying to keep Grisu behind as much as he could, but... he makes a mistake on the second damn trickiest curb at this track!...


Lap 30 - The nice duel between Arnie and Joe ends up in a bad way for El Muchacho Suave... Arnie takes the 10th place!


Lap 30 - Meanwhile, Luft overtakes Jack from the outside in the very fast left hander - Brave move!


Lap 32 - The next "target" Arek wanted to keep behind before his second stop was Alex Hill. He has some problems, but finally made a pass!


Lap 33 - Arek with a "smart" strategy () leaves the pits after his second stop with 3 laps to go, but his Polish fans love him anyway!

Lap 35 - Luft passes Tom and jums up to the 7th place!


Lap 36 - LAST LAP - Adrian gets a puncture on the very last lap losing his 2nd place!


Lap 36 - LAST LAP - Soutie wins the Brazilian GP!


Lap 36 - LAST LAP - Sven, who was 2nd, blows his engine at 200m before the finish line!!! Ha ha ha!!! Grisu takes it! 'Thank you, sir!'


Lap 36 - LAST LAP - Reaction of the 101% hysterical Bieber's fans - WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Lap 36 - LAST LAP - Alex Hill also overtakes 'Smoking Sven' and gets the last podium place and finishes in 3rd!
