Well, I also liked the original version BUT their main goal was to make something closer to most circuits today, a little more modern and safer (theorically) where they could attrackt more people to the events, have more spectators on the stands and etc, right?
So, in THIS way, they actually did a good job.
The problem IMO was that the new track layout kinda sucks - especially compared to the old one - and they could've certainly done a better job.
But if we stop and think, a LOT of tracks suffered 'radical' changes in the past as well...
Some examples: Silverstone (the very first verion in the 40's), Interlagos, Kayalami, A1 Ring, Fuji... to name a few...
It's hard to get used to these changes, especially when we get used to the previous versions - especially in 'classic tracks', like Hockenheim...
Anyway... I actually agree with you guys. I just wish they have done a better job with the new track layout itself.
